Accessibility Statement
Effective Date: October 26, 2026
Illusion Eyewear is committed to making our website usable by people of all abilities, including people with disabilities. We treat this as ongoing work, not a box to tick, and we report our progress honestly below — including what does not yet work.
1. Conformance Standard
We are working toward conformance with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1, Level AA, as our minimum standard, and we apply the later WCAG 2.2 Level AA criteria wherever our remediation work meets them. WCAG 2.1 Level AA is the standard most commonly referenced in United States accessibility law.
We are not claiming full conformance yet. Remediation is underway and some items remain outstanding. We say so plainly rather than publish a claim our site does not meet.
2. Assessment Date
Our main accessibility assessment was completed on October 20, 2026, with fixes and additional production testing continuing through October 25, 2026. We review this statement whenever significant accessibility work is completed, and at least annually.
3. How We Test
We test using the tools and methods people with disabilities actually use, not automated scanning alone:
- Screen readers: NVDA with Microsoft Edge on Windows 11.
- Keyboard only: completing the full path from product page to checkout without a mouse.
- Automated scanning: Lighthouse across our page templates.
- Zoom and reflow: testing at 400% zoom to confirm content reflows without loss of function.
- Content checks: image alternative text review, colour contrast, text spacing, target size, and confirming that information is never communicated through colour alone.
4. What We Have Fixed
As of this statement, the following have been tested and corrected:
- Alternative text is live across our product images.
- Keyboard focus handling and modal navigation.
- The prescription form, including screen-reader names on all prescription dropdowns.
- Sale and promotional information.
- Mobile reflow.
- The complete product-to-checkout keyboard path.
5. Known Limitations
Virtual Try-On. Virtual Try-On shows a live camera preview of eyewear on your face. It is visual by nature, and there is no equivalent experience we can offer a customer who is blind. We have not hidden it — it remains reachable and clearly labelled, and its consent notice can be read and declined using a keyboard or screen reader.
If you cannot use Virtual Try-On, you can still browse, choose a frame, and complete your purchase. Every frame lists lens width, bridge width, and temple length, together with a size from Extra Small to Extra Large. You are also welcome to contact us and we will help you select a frame directly.
Testing still in progress. VoiceOver and JAWS testing are scheduled and not yet complete. We will update this statement when they are.
Our FAQ document. Our current FAQ is published as a PDF that is not fully accessible. An accessible HTML version is in preparation. In the meantime, contact us and we will answer any question in the FAQ directly.
6. Third-Party Applications
Some features on our site are provided by third parties. We test them and report problems to their providers, but we do not control their code. Our current findings:
- Judge.me reviews — the review dialog passed our keyboard and screen-reader checks.
- Wishlist Hero — keyboard accessible; the confirmation shown after adding an item still requires manual verification.
- Klaviyo — no active popup appeared during testing.
- GLO Color Swatch and BUCKS — not active on the pages tested.
- Shopify checkout — Shopify controls this code. Our keyboard testing successfully reached checkout.
7. Feedback and Assistance
If any part of our website is difficult or impossible for you to use, contact us at support@illusioneyewear.online or 703-597-0660, Monday to Friday, 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM Eastern. Tell us what you were trying to do and what got in the way. We will help you complete your purchase or get the information you need another way, and we will use what you tell us to fix the problem.
We treat accessibility feedback as a priority, not a complaint. You will never be treated differently for raising it.
